Siren song of Atë tempts, mesmerizes, entices, seduces

A moment. A choice. A slow and gradual slide.

Can’t escape…an irresistible pull. Guilt. Shame. Gratification. Captivity. Depravity.

Just stop. Please.

Hunger

Get help. Anything. Please.

Insatiable

Don’t you know what you’re doing? Where this is going?

Appetite

Can’t you see who you’re hurting? What you’re losing?

It’s not that simple

A hope. A chance. A prayer. Disillusionment. Exhaustion. A repetitive cycle.

Caught between two worlds – two facades – one raw, alive and alert, masquerading, one hazy, feeling so little, feeling so much, real. The voice of the need drowns out all the others. Nothing else matters now.

Loss slowly engulfs the barren landscape of the soul, a weighted blanket of deep, heavy snow, crushing the tiny shoots of hope, shrunken low for survival.

Deliverance sometimes only comes in earthly physical release, sometimes after a grueling, punishing fight.

Dear one: fight hard, rest well. Find peace. Know you are loved. Don’t ever give up.

If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, know that you are worth the fight, and it is important that you get help immediately. You don’t have to struggle alone.
