Natural Deodorant – Part 2
I posted an article a while back about natural deodorant and my quest to avoid all the harsh, cancer-linked chemicals in normal store deodorants, and all the considerations when you decide to make the switch.
Along the way, my husband and I tried a couple of well-known natural deodorants that got pretty good reviews, but the ones with baking soda left our underarms with a nasty rash (bad enough to send my husband to the doctor), and under the sweet-smelling surface we still stunk. The others with activated charcoal or other unknown ingredients I didn’t even try because I was afraid of staining my clothes. Embarrassing.
Then, heaven opened up, and an angel sent down a deodorant called Lume. Pronounced Loo-mee.
Oh. My. Goodness. Can I just tell you my life changed forever?
Lume was originally created by an OB/GYN to combat the monthly stink for ladies, but it worked so well that she realized it made a great deodorant, too. Lume is hypoallergenic (think sensitive skin), vegan, cruelty-free, derived from natural, aluminum-free, baking-soda free, and non-staining ingredients (think no stained pits on your clothes), and goes on like a lotion anywhere on the outside of your body. Think stinky feet, stink in the nether-regions, stink during intimacy, etc. Plus, it smells good and lasts for I won’t tell you how many days I went without taking a shower with just applying Lume…It works by neutralizing the bacteria where you apply it and stops the bacteria from stinking.
If you’ve tried other natural deodorants in the past and have gotten so fed up with the rashes and underlying stink, and wanted to just ditch your efforts and go back to your regular deodorant, Lume is for you. (**Disclaimer: I am a former Lume affiliate, however, not anymore. Just a Lume fanatic!)
